Ink on the reverse of a recycled tile.

The tiles rear surface provides a 3 dimensional canvas with which to work on and I love the image that's conveyed. That maybe what’s pictured tells a story that would be hidden looking at the tile as was intended.

Two male figures face inwards. One at either side of the reverse of a landscape rectangular tile. A diagonal raised line pattern creates diamonds and the clay/brick colour in broken odd white with streaks. Their eyes locked with my frenetic lines building up contours of their faces and shadows with the face on the left being darker, in shade.
